Guidelines
This is the complete version of our guidelines, which are applicable specifically to the Space Station 14 game server. Our Community Code of Conduct also governs in-game behavior, whether it is in-character or out-of-character.
- Act according to the role that you have been given. Do not cause chaos simply because you are bored, or cause indiscriminate damage only because you are an antagonist. If you are crew, you are a friend of the crew; if you are an antagonist, you have specific goals that limit your destruction.
- Keep IC information strictly IC until it ceases to be mechanically relevant. This means you should not reveal via OOC or out-of-game channels the identities of antagonists, the status or location of your character, or any other piece of information that is not already known to everyone else.
- Conversely, if you have been gibbed, cloned, or borged, your character cannot remember the events leading to their death. If you have been knocked out, your character cannot remember events that occurred right before or while they were unconscious. If you respawn from Cryo, or if you take on a ghost role, your character cannot remember anything that happened during the shift.
- Do not behave in such a way as to make other players uncomfortable. This means you should not roleplay as "insane" characters, engage in real or simulated bigotry, make any kind of unwanted gestures of affection, or play out a scene involving imminent or actual on-screen suicide.
- If you are going to lean into romantic or vaguely sensual themes, the point at which you feel the need to get a room IC is the point at which you should, in fact, get a room OOC; that is, you should stop and take your scene someplace outside of the game. You should also take your scene to DMs if other players express discomfort.
